RESERVATIONS All reservations for the packages shown herein shall be made through travel agents. Reservations will be considered definite after a deposit is received. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
DEPOSIT A deposit of $500.00 per person is required at the time of booking; a tour invoice will be issued by fax or forwarded to the booking agent.
FINAL PAYMENT Final and full payment is required 45 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATIONS All cancellations must be made in writing to Marco Polo Tours (MPT) by the booking agent and date of receipt of said cancellation will determine what penalties, if any, are to be charged. $500.00 per person - after the booking has been confirmed. Thereafter, the following cancellation fee will apply: 45-08 days prior to departure: 75% of the tour price per person within 7 days prior to departure and after departure: 100% forfeiture of tour price per person.
REFUNDS There will be no refunds once the tour has commenced. There is no refund for unused tour arrangements, domestic and international flights, ground transportation and hotel accommodations.
TOUR PRICE Tour price includes air transportation and land arrangements as a package. Tour price is quoted in Canadian Dollars based on tariffs and foreign currency exchange rates in effect Oct. 01, 2007. All prices are subject to change without notice and in the case of extreme currency fluctuation.
PASSPORT AND CHINA VISA A valid passport is required for all tour participants and must remain valid for at least 6 months after the scheduled return of the tour. Visa is required for Canadian nationals visiting the People's Republic of China. China visa application & handling fee is $55.00 per person. MPT handles the visa application only for British Columbia and Yukon residents per procedure set by China Consulate-Vancouver, B.C. Residents from other provinces and nationals from other countries should check with the booking agent regarding visa requirements.
MPT will not be responsible for alternate or additional land or air arrangements resulting from improper documentation.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS Currently none of the countries included in the itineraries require a certificate of vaccination. However, this is subject to change at any time.
BAGGAGE Airline regulations entitle each transpacific passenger to two check-in suitcases and one carry-on bag that fits beneath the seat. For travel within Asia, the allowance for check-in baggage is a total of 44 pounds per passenger.
YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE Yangtze River cruise is by standard cabins aboard specified cruise line. In the event that an assigned cruise boat is not available due to reasons beyond MPT’s control, MPT reserves the right to substitute with another available boat.
AIR TRANSPORTATION Air transportation quoted in this brochure is based on round trip economy excursion fares published by the airline whichever is applicable to the tour program. All fares used are subject to change without notice by the airline.
MEALS Within China, 3 meals are provided daily.
ACCOMMODATIONS Accommodations are provided in first class hotels specified in the itinerary. MPT reserves the right to substitute hotels whenever necessary. Rooms are randomly assigned by each hotel on a run-of-the-house basis. Accommodations are on the basis of two persons sharing a room. Hotel service charges and tax are included.
TRANSFERS AND SIGHTSEEING All transfers and sightseeing are by air-conditioned motorcoach, car or other conveyance.
RESPONSIBILITIES Marco Polo Tours (MPT) gives notice that all tickets and coupons issued, all arrangements for transport or conveyance or accommodations are made as agents upon the express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or defect in any vehicle, or through the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of the tours, or otherwise in connection therewith, or of any hotel proprietor or services, sickness, weather quarantine, strikes, force majeure, other causes or acts of God. All tour itineraries and prices may be affected by alterations in steamship, air, and railroad services of the various countries. MPT reserves the right to withdraw a tour announced in this program, substitute hotels and make alternate changes on the itineraries as deemed necessary for the betterment of carrying out the tour. The Chinese handling agency has sole and exclusive control over the operation of all tours in China and reserves the right to make alterations or adjustments in the itinerary as to destinations, transportation, accommodations and all other services. MPT reserves the right to decline or accept or to reject any person as a member of any tour at any time if necessary. The airlines concerned are not held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time the passengers are not onboard their planes or conveyance. The contract in use by the airline and the passenger shall constitute as the sole contract. Any other transportation, travel companies used shall have no responsibility or liability to any traveller aside from their liability as common carriers. |
